Online personal training for beginners

If you’re just starting out in the gym, knowing where to start can be a bit of a minefield. This is where Online Personal Training can help.

There are so many options, apps & social media guru’s with the next best workout these days, it can be hard to find the right starting point for you. Having an Online Personal Trainer guide you through those early days can really boost your confidence in what you’re doing.

3 Benefits Online Personal Training Provides for Beginners

The 3 biggest benefits as to why you should consider a PT when you’re starting out are:

  1. You get expert guidance on how to set up a gym routine, that’s effective at building your knowledge, confidence and most importantly generating results.

  2. Having a coach who can provide clarity, support and motivation during those moments of doubt that everyone gets when starting out.

  3. Access to your coach in the palm of your hand anywhere in the world. No matter where you’re working out, your coach will always be there to support you.

These 3 areas are so important for ‘newbies’ because they allow you to cut through the uncertainty and get to your results, in the fastest way possible.

Tailored Workouts that get Results

Online personal training is great because everything is bespoke to you and your level. It takes into account your training environment, your schedule and equipment to provide you with the perfect programme that slots effortlessly into your lifestyle.

Nothing is cookie cutter. Instead, each element is carefully analysed to meet your exact needs. Your programme is constantly evolving and your trainer’s intuition plays a key part in this. Monitoring & tweaking to maximise both results and enjoyment.

Training should be fun! It’s not a military boot camp. It’s your personal journey and having a trainer that understands that can be the difference between achieving your goals or paying for a gym membership you never use.

Common Challenges When Starting Your Fitness Journey

Being a beginner to not only the gym, but training in general can come with an array of challenges.

  • Uncertainty around the mixed messages spread about health & fitness on social media

  • Lack of confidence as a result of not much experience in the gym

  • A fear of being judged for being a novice

  • Low fitness levels meaning not really knowing where to start

The problem here is beginners often never start because of these issues. Stuck in a circle of wanting to start and improve but never being able to take that first step. But it doesn’t have to be like that.

The More Than Muscle Approach To Online Fitness Coaching

Each client that comes through our virtual doors starts with a 30 min video call. We need to fully establish your goals, current ability, health status and available time to train.

This allows our coaches to build a tailored program, centred around you and your personal needs. There’s no presets here.  For us it’s a vitally important ingredient helping you reach your goals.

Your training isn’t about us as coaches, but rather you as the client. Our coaches listen to you and what you’re about, to put together specific programs that align. They have the experience to understand your needs and support you through the whole process.

From the minute you come onboard with us as a client, right through to smashing through those goals you set - we’re here to help you. There’s no better feeling than seeing our clients break through every goal they set for themselves - all with big smiles on their faces.

Does This Work?

Most people starting out with us graduate into skilled gym goers with confidence & know-how.

This often translates to being a leaner, stronger and fitter version of you. With your new found sense of confidence, we believe our online personal training service is perfect to come in and run through a structured process that fast-tracks the success of your goals.

We have worked with hundreds of individuals like you and feel proud each time we see a client succeed. Especially true when a beginner comes in and grows themselves into a confident gym goer.

What Sort Of Workouts Can I Expect As A Beginner?

Commonly, beginners aren’t quite ready to conduct some of the more advanced exercises in the gym yet. This is often a factor in why they don’t start.

However, with our programs this isn’t a problem.

We scale you from where you’re capable and slowly build you up to the more advanced exercises. This progression of your training allows you to learn the right skills and perform them correctly.

Our methods reduce injuries, build strength and ultimately get you skilled enough in the gym to master your training craft. Here’s an example of how we progress a client towards a back squat.

Step-By-Step Progression to a Barbell Back Squat

Going straight into a Barbell Back Squat isn’t a good idea. We need to train the various movement patterns required for a safe and much more effective exercise.

Week 1-3

Step ups & Split squat variations

Week 4-6

Box Squat & Air Squat Variations

Week 7-9

Counterbalance Squats & Goblet squat Variations‍

Week 10-12

Front & Back squat variations

Don’t Just Listen To Us
