A fantastic preparation exercise for building strong posterior muscles. The back extension helps teach hip driving mechanisms to be carried over to more radiant exercises such as your deadlifts. The back extension in itself is a great way to build strong spinal erectors and hip extensors. It is also a great way to teach an athlete how to connect their body in a chain under load, be that gravity or with extra additional resistance.
