A very common question I get asked time and time again by not just women but also men is “how do I get rid of the ‘muffin top’?”
Jeans that need to be un-popped when sitting down, shopping for pull-in pants and opting for an elastic, high waist fit- if this sounds all too familiar for you then you are probably conscious about your love handles.
1- No Muffin= No Muffin Top
Now unfortunately you can’t spot reduce fat or make fat disappear from just one body part. However by firstly looking at your overall body fat percentage and weight that can give you an idea of where to start. By starting with your nutrition and making healthier food choices you will soon see a change in your mid-section, taking you another step closer to achieving your goal.
2-Build a Base
Working on the core doesn’t only help with improving posture but will also build and shape those tummy muscles. But remember, Side planks, crunches and Russian twists are all well and good for building that muscle underneath, however if you don’t take control of your nutrition you will never be able to show off all that hard work.
3- Stretch It Out
Classes such as Yoga, Pilates and Body Balance are all very demanding on the core. Balancing on one leg and moving from one posture to the next requires a great deal of strength and co-ordination.
Practice these 3 steps and you will soon be well on your way to seeing those abs you’ve always wanted to meet!
